Conrad Murray: Michael aiheutti itse kuolemansa

Conrad Murray on pyytänyt tuomarilta, että Michael Jacksonin isän, Joen, kanne häntä vastaan hylättäisiin. Murrayn mukaan hänellä ei ollut mitään tekemistä kuoleman kanssa, vaan Michael Jackson otti lääkkeen itse. Joe-isän kanne käsittelee epäoikeudenmukaista kuolemaa.

Jackson kuoli Propofol-lääkkeen yliannostukseen kaksi vuotta sitten. Murray oli samaan aikaan Jacksonin kotona. Murrayn puolustuksen mukaan Jacksonin kuolinpäivänä Murrayllä ei ollut harmainta aavistustakaan siitä, että Jackson otti lääkettä.

Alkuperäisessä kanteessa Murraytä syytetään siitä, ettei hän antanut pelastushenkilökunnalle tietoja Jacksonin hoitohistoriasta sekä siitä, että hän myönsi antaneensa kolmea lääkettä, muttei maininnut Propofolia missään vaiheessa. Kanteen mukaan Murray antoi myös ristiriitaisia lausuntoja poliisille Jacksonista ja hänen ottamistaan lääkkeistä.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Murrayllä on niskassaan myös toinen oikeusjuttu Jacksoniin liittyen. Häntä syytetään Michael Jacksonin kuolemantuottamuksesta. Oikeuskäsittelyn aloituspäivä selvinnee heinäkuun aikana.

Michaelin vaatteita Grammy-museossa

Juhlistaen Michaelin elämää ja työtä, Los Angelesissa sijaitseva Grammy-museo on laittanut esille kokoelman Michaelin vaatteita, mukaan lukien Thriller-albumin kannessa nähdyn puvun.

Kokoelma on ollut nähtävissä vasta eilisestä lähtien ja se sijaitsee museon kolmannessa kerroksessa, jossa on nähtävillä myös video Michaelin Grammy-esiintymisistä.

Thriller-takki myytiin hurjalla hinnalla

Kaksi vuotta sitten kuolleen poptähti Michael Jacksonin takki on myyty Yhdysvalloissa 1,8 miljoonalla dollarilla (noin 1,3 miljoonalla eurolla). Etukäteen takin hinnan oli arvioitu nousevan 200 000-400 000 dollariin.

Jackson käytti punamustaa nahkatakkia legendaarisella Thriller-musiikkivideollaan vuonna 1983. Takki aiheutti aikanaan muotivillityksen, ja sen kopioita on myyty ympäri maailman.

Miljoonapotin pulittanut texasilainen miljonääri Milton Verret aikoo viedä takin kiertueelle, jolla kerätään rahaa lastensairaaloille. Huutokaupan tuotosta osa menee kalifornialaiselle eläintensuojelualueelle, missä Jacksonin kaksi bengalintiikeriä Thriller ja Sabu elävät.

Behind the Mask -video tehtiin fanien avustuksella

Fanit ympäri maailmaa innostuivat Michaeljackson.comissa olleesta kilpailusta, mihin pystyi lähettämään omat tanssikuvionsa Jacksonin postuumisti julkaistun ”Michael” –albumin uusimpaan singleen ”Behind the Mask”. Maaliskuussa käynnistynyt kilpailu keräsi videoklippejä ympäri maailmaa 103 maasta. Nyt video on valmis ja katsottavissa täältä!

Videon ohjaaja, grammy-palkittu Dennis Liu kävi läpi kaikki klipit ja päätyi 1600 klippiin, mitä videolla käytettäisiin, mukaanlukien 50 lasta ja 36 eläintä. ” This has been the most exciting and fun project I think I’ve ever been involved in. It’s been such a privilege, and was incredibly moving to see so many people from all over the world join as one, their creative voices, dance and musical talents bound together by Michael Jackson’s spirit and incomparable artistry. We received submissions from the Sahara Desert to Venice Beach, from mountaintops to suburban backyards, with some shots featuring well over one hundred people apiece. All who participated delivered brilliantly.”

Fanien rooli videossa korostuu, koska ”Behind the Mask” on fanien ylivoimainen suosikki viime joulukuussa julkaistulta ”Michael” –albumilta. Tuotantotiimin mukaan tämä video on paras tapa kunnioittaa faneja sekä Michael Jacksonin muistoa.

Albumi nousi listaykköseksi 14 maassa ja oli loppuvuoden myydyin levy ylittäen kolmen miljoonan rajapyykin.
